Thanks to your support, we were able to purchase two new, high-quality rugs that have completely transformed our library into a more welcoming, functional, and joyful space for our learners.\r\nThe library is the heart of our school, but it often struggles to feel cozy or organized. Your donation allowed us to address two major needs.\r\nFirst, the large reading rug has created a dedicated, comfortable, and inviting \"Reading Island\" for our students. Before this, our readers were often seated on a cold, hard floor. Now, they have a soft, colorful space to curl up with a good book. This new reading corner has immediately encouraged a deeper love for literacy, with students eagerly rushing to find a spot on the carpet during their library time. Seeing them immersed in stories, lying on their stomachs, and sharing books with their peers is a testament to the impact of your gift.\r\nSecondly, and perhaps most importantly, the smaller, vibrant hopscotch rug has become our designated \"Wiggle Lane\" rug. As educators, we know that children—especially our younger students—need to move to learn. This rug has become a fantastic, designated spot for short, active, and engaging movement breaks. When students feel fidgety or lose focus, they now have a specific place to get their wiggles out, allowing them to return to reading or listening with renewed focus. This small addition has made a massive difference in managing the energy levels in the library, ensuring that we can maintain a balance between active learning and quiet contemplation.\r\nYour commitment to our school community is truly heartwarming. Donations like yours empower us to create a learning environment where students feel safe, comfortable, and excited to explore. You have not just given us two pieces of carpet; you have provided our students with a space for comfort, imagination, and necessary movement.\r\nWe would love for you to see the impact of your generosity firsthand. We welcome you to look at the attached photos to see the reading rug and the wiggle rug in action.\r\nThank you again for your kindness, foresight, and dedication to our students' education and well-being. We are profoundly grateful for your support.\r\nSincerely,\r\nJessica Anderson\r\nLibrarian\r\nHanson Elementary School","fullyFundedDate":1765996388544,"projectUrl":"project/reading-rug-needed/9597577/","projectTitle":"Reading Rug, Needed","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jess","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10178021_orig.jpg?crop=540,540,x538,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755525680270","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10178021"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_130022","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":257,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":35,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":92,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 3","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":130022,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hanson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hanson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maine/rsu-60-msad-60/hanson-elementary-school/130022"}
