This project meant the world to me. It's hard to understand the impact new desks can have on an already limited classroom, and that's what I had this year. Due to unexpected shifting and changes, I adopted a blank canvas classroom, meaning I was provided with our boxed curriculum and materials to teach it. When my amazing principal found desks, my heart dropped. They didn't meet my standards for what I know my students needed, and I really wanted a better style desk for group work. It's important that the space in my class is welcoming and as uniform as possible. Although we did not receive the desks we had requested, we received desks that will work. I had hoped for the trapezoid style, but the company did not have them so we received the standard desks. They will serve the students well, and we made an alternative table for the group work space I was envisioning the trapezoid desks for.
