Your kindness has given them more than just supplies, it's given them the opportunity to create, to learn a new skill, and to experience the pride that comes from making something with their own hands. \r\n\r\nOne of my students has struggled with making mistakes - any mistakes. Through knitting club I've explained over and over the importance of continuing to knit despite mistakes (this student unravels their knitting when they make one mistake). I can now say that within the last few weeks this student has not only continued knitting despite mistakes, but also taken this lesson into the classroom. Once, making a mistake on an assignment would cause this student to shut down in class or on their school work, now this student remembers the lesson in knitting and is continuing in her lessons despite mistakes. This student's grades have gone up since then. \r\n\r\nThank you for supporting my students and helping them have the materials to learn these valuable life lessons!","fullyFundedDate":1762267620587,"projectUrl":"project/stitch-by-stitch-building-skills/9756515/","projectTitle":"Stitch by Stitch, Building Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carpentier","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9309406_orig.jpg?crop=2160,2160,x0,y259&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696358341651","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hslibrary"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65324","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":945,"numTeachers":74,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":87,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.3,"schoolId":65324,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Windham High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Windham High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maine/rsu-14/windham-high-school/65324"}
