My students are incredibly grateful for these items.\r\n\r\nWhen the resources arrived, they couldn't believe someone out there was so generous, not even knowing who they were. The excitement of opening the projects was a lot of fun too. \r\n\r\nThese donations allow me to continue to offer a calming and nurturing space for high school students. I thought of this project because so many of my students were arriving to my class talking about being hungry and how much time was left until they would next eat. On occasion, I bought snacks for my classes and they were always appreciated and I could see that they became more alert and ready for the day's lesson after having a snack. This project allows me to now offer them to all students at the beginning of class.\r\n\r\nWhen they initially saw the large amount of supplies, they were amazed and couldn't believe strangers had understood their needs and made it happen. Even today when I pull out a basket of the snacks, they still get excited. For many of my students, they come from homes with food insecurity and may go long periods of time without food. These supplies are so needed and give them hope knowing people out there care so much.\r\n\r\nIn the future, I am planning to seek funding for basic supplies to teach my students how to cook or make simple, but healthy snacks to continue to fuel their minds.","fullyFundedDate":1735847612853,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-for-the-teenage-brain-and-body/8745398/","projectTitle":"Fuel for the Teenage Brain and body","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bingham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp168020_orig.jpg?crop=965,965,x0,y157&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1666100045224","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/168020"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65585","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":631,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.8,"schoolId":65585,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Morse High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Morse High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maine/rsu-1/morse-high-school/65585"}
