When I began unboxing the items for our calming corner, students happily recognized your care for them. The fidgets, coloring books, and tactile additions to the calming corner have made it a welcoming spot students use when they need a moment to breathe, or to find space from others while remaining in the classroom. \r\n\r\nEach day when students walk into our classroom, they stroll over to the calming corner to grab a fidget. Students are eager to have something in their hands while in class to help them focus. Your support in funding a second computer monitor is making a tangible difference in how I teach and how my students engage with math. Thanks to you, our learning environment is becoming more dynamic, efficient, and student-centered.\r\n\r\nAs you know, our math curriculum heavily relies on Desmos, an interactive platform that allows students to explore mathematical concepts in an engaging and meaningful way. This platform is an invaluable tool, but effectively utilizing it required constant switching between my students' screens, instructional materials, and the teacher dashboard—all on a single laptop. This made it difficult to provide immediate feedback, closely monitor student progress, and ensure that every learner received the support they needed in real-time.\r\n\r\nNow, because of your generosity, this challenge has been alleviated. The addition of a second monitor has significantly improved my ability to manage my classroom workflow. I can now display student work on one screen while keeping lesson plans, instructional tools, and real-time assessments open on the other. This simple yet impactful change allows for smoother transitions, more effective monitoring, and a more interactive approach to teaching and learning.\r\n\r\nPerhaps most importantly, your donation directly benefits my students. In mathematics, timely feedback is crucial—whether it's guiding students through problem-solving, identifying misconceptions, or celebrating their successes. With the new setup, I can more efficiently review student submissions, provide immediate assistance, and ensure that every learner is on track. This means fewer delays, more personalized instruction, and a stronger sense of engagement in the classroom.\r\n\r\nI have already seen the positive impact this change has brought. Students are receiving feedback faster, class discussions are more fluid, and I am better able to foster an environment where learning is accessible and responsive. The students have noticed, too! They appreciate the increased attention to their work and the ability to receive help right when they need it. By enhancing my ability to multitask, the new monitor has also allowed me to create a more interactive and responsive learning experience, which ultimately supports student success.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has gone beyond just providing a piece of technology; it has enriched the daily learning experience of my students and made my teaching more effective. Every time I use this second monitor, I am reminded of your kindness and belief in the power of education.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of myself and my students, thank you for investing in our classroom and helping to create a more seamless and engaging learning experience. Your support is deeply appreciated and will continue to make a difference for many students to come.","fullyFundedDate":1734621491065,"projectUrl":"project/math-technology/8887700/","projectTitle":"Math Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ramsdell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp750411_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657249775734","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gramsdell"},{"teacherId":750411,"projectId":8794071,"letterContent":"These headphones have been a lifesaver in the classroom. The issues featured characters who were the students' ages and facing similar challenges so engagement was much easier.\r\n\r\nSome of the readers who struggle the most are engaging with Scope in a way that I haven't seen them engage with any other reading this year. My students use them every single day! The flexible seating options have become part of the culture in our classroom. In one of the photos, it is hard to tell, but all flexible seating options are being used by students as well as fidgets on/in their desks. \r\nThey love all of the fidgets and we have developed ways to share and use the fidgets- keeping them in the calming corner, but anyone has access to them at anytime. When I opened the box and showed them the slugs and squishy fidgets, they were SO excited!! \r\nSo many kids use these items, but I have also intentionally introduced them to a few students that need them more and have given them theraputic putty, a squishy fidget, or pop it for them to keep and use in all of their classes.
