I teach mostly 3D art classes, like ceramics and sculpture, and it is very difficult for me to collect and grade student artwork. Unlike a stack of drawings, I can't transport 20 clay pieces home to grade after school, so photographing their work is essential. Students all have laptops, but the cameras are not very high quality. Now, with the iPad (and case to keep it safe), tripod, and photo booth, students can take high quality photos of their art to turn in. This helps them to feel like their work matters, because they can see how good it looks in the photos. This was a huge help for final exam time as well, as students put together a final portfolio of their artwork for the semester. The difference between the iPad photos and the laptop ones is dramatic! \r\nStudents are also excited to experiment with digital drawing with the iPad and Apple Pencil. So far, this has been a free-choice activity for students who finish their assignments early, but I plan to start offering it as an alternative to drawing on paper for the preparatory work we do for every project. Students enjoy the novelty and convenience of drawing digitally - it is easy to make copies and try variations, and they have an easy way to add sketches to their portfolios and share them with friends. \r\nWe really appreciate the chance your generosity gave us to upgrade our photo-taking and digital art capabilities!","fullyFundedDate":1760742772436,"projectUrl":"project/proud-artists-beautiful-photos/9714321/","projectTitle":"Proud Artists, Beautiful Photos!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hodgkin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1400524_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1704752569909","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ehodgkin"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65202","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":365,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":93,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":53.0,"schoolId":65202,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lisbon High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lisbon High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maine/lisbon-school-department/lisbon-high-school/65202"}
