The very first activity the students used it for was creating their own frames to showcase their fall art projects. They also displayed the saw at our schools fall open house and parents and siblings were given a chance to try their hands at it.\r\n\r\n Our Christmas play this year was \" A Bugz Christmas!\" and it required the construction of many different bug costumes. The chomp saw came in super handy with the construction of some of the more complex pieces and for that we were very grateful.\r\n\r\n We will continue to put the saw to good use utilizing a never ending supply of cardboard and creativity!","fullyFundedDate":1759423356640,"projectUrl":"project/lets-create/9771002/","projectTitle":"Let's Create","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. B","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10293078"},{"teacherId":8819751,"projectId":9771415,"letterContent":"In a small school with limited access to quality science equipment, we have been so blessed by the basic tools to perform experiments and grow knowledge in science and technology. Each one of our lower grade classrooms, preK to 4th, now has everything that they need to perform planned science lessons or just peek at something up close that they may have found on the playground with a quality microscope. The pleasure of being able to study science on a whim is possibly the greatest gift. \r\n\r\nAs the young scientists unboxed the materials provided, the positive curiosity began. What do all scientists do? Ask questions. Students are in the process of learning the names of materials and laboratory safety. They are experimenting with focussing the microscope and are looking forward to using all tools in their intended capacity to study and learn! \r\n\r\nWe are grateful for each donor that contributed to this project. The impact that the materials will have does not stop with this school year, with this group of students, or in this learning environment. The tools and equipment will foster learning in young students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1761649853333,"projectUrl":"project/todays-materials-for-todays-learners/9771415/","projectTitle":"Today's Materials for Today's Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reynolds","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8819751_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1679443589995","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8819751"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65660","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":47,"numTeachers":6,"percentFrplEligible":43,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"7.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":87.9,"schoolId":65660,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fort O'Brien Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fort O'Brien Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maine/aos-96/ft-o-brien-elementary-school/65660"}
