They have had the best time watching our new materials arrive. \r\nYesterday in learning labs a child was playing with the sculpting lab using play dough and she had remembered a story we read last week and decided to sculpt one of the scenes from the story. Never in a million years would I have thought that a child would go home over the weekend and then return to school and know exactly what she was sculpting because she had seen the book last week. Books make a great resource for kids. It opens up their imagination. I can't wait to introduce them to these new books on transportation. By having projects in DonorsChoose, I am able to provide my classroom with the materials that I know they deserve to have and use. Children in my classroom LOVE to be read to! They also LOVE to see the real world pictures. My students cheered when they saw the cushions and the motivational goodies, which immediately reinforced the fun and excitement of learning.\r\n\r\nAs this is my first year, the lack of storage was a major challenge, but the rolling cart has been a game-changer. It instantly transformed our organization, making our space look cleaner, less cluttered, and more functional for focused 1st-grade work. The classroom truly looks much better now! We are actively using the colorful bins, which give each student a dedicated spot for their personal materials—fostering responsibility and teaching them organizational skills.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, the new cushions have made our classroom library a truly inviting, comfortable space. Just last week, during our independent reading time, the students eagerly grabbed their cushions, found a cozy spot, and settled in to explore new books.
