Thanks to your generous support, our Big Brains, Little Books project provided our classroom with a vibrant collection of Who Was? biography books that sparked a deep love for reading, research, and hands-on creativity.Every single student selected a historical figure who inspired them, dove into their biography, and transformed their knowledge into both visual and performance art. First, students engineered 3D pop bottle figures of their characters, using recycled bottles, paint, fabric, and clay to carefully craft their figure's historical attire and features.The project culminated in a spectacular \"Living Museum\" event. Students stood proudly next to their 3D pop bottle displays as \"statues.\" When visitors pressed a button, our students came alive, confidently delivering speeches about their figure's life and contributions to the world.\r\n\r\nProject Impact & Achievements\r\nBoosted Reading Engagement: The accessible, highly visual format of the Who Was? series completely engrossed readers of all levels.\r\n\r\nIntegrated STEM & Art: Designing the 3D pop bottle figures allowed students to think critically about proportions, materials, and historical accuracy.\r\n\r\nDeveloped Research Skills: Students learned how to extract key facts, create timelines, and synthesize biographical information into a spoken script.\r\n\r\nBuilt Public Speaking Confidence: Presenting to peers, teachers, and parents helped students overcome stage fright and take immense pride in their hard work.\r\n\r\nYour kindness did more than just put books on our shelves; it gave our students a platform to become researchers, artists, and storytellers.
