The pencil sharpener has been especially helpful because students can quickly prepare their pencils and get back to learning without taking away from instructional time. We have also been using the sound bell during classroom transitions. For example, when it is time to move from whole-group instruction to independent math practice, the bell gives students a clear signal that it is time to transition. These resources have helped make our classroom routines smoother and more organized.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were very excited! They especially enjoyed hearing the sound bell and learning what the different signals would mean. They were also excited about having a new pencil sharpener that they could use during class. It was wonderful to see them excited about items that help our classroom function better.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue strengthening our classroom routines while using these resources throughout our daily math lessons. As we move into new skills and more independent practice, students will continue learning how to transition quickly, have their materials ready, and take responsibility for being prepared to learn. These resources may seem simple, but they are already helping us create a more efficient and positive learning environment.
