Because of your generosity, students have access to books they actually want to read.\r\n\r\nWhen books like El Deafo, Class Act, Girl Called Echo, and My Bilingual Summer arrived, something wonderful unfolded. Students eagerly picked them up on their own, showing their natural curiosity. El Deafo created quiet, personal moments of connection for students who don't often see themselves as readers. Class Act sparked some of the most lively debates we've had all year, with students sharing different perspectives, making predictions, and looking forward to the next book in the series. Girl Called Echo and My Bilingual Summer offered students who rarely see their cultures in print a special reason to engage more deeply.\r\n\r\nFor students in a Title I school, where books like these might not always be available at home, experience that special moment of recognition. When they realize, \"this story is for me!\" it becomes truly meaningful. It boosts their confidence and opens doors to all kinds of learning and discovery.\r\n\r\nThese books now find a home in our classroom library, ready to be borrowed or recommended by students throughout the year.
