Prior to receiving them, the students really struggled with the outdated laptop computers that the school issued. They were very slow, constantly logged the students out of the programs, and were very challenging for them to sign into because of having to type extremely long email addresses. These students are 5 years old, so the tablets have really changed their ability to get logged onto the educational programs quickly. \r\n\r\nI have seen my students go from completing 3 lessons a week, to an average of 10 lessons per week. We recently beat out the rest of kindergarten, first grade, and second grade in a school-wide Zearn (math) challenge to win a King Cake party. The students were so proud of their achievements, and it is definitely helping them build language and math skills. They look forward to their acceleration time each day instead of the dread they used to face when it was time to get online. \r\n\r\nMost of these students are learning to speak English, so the tablets are extremely user friendly for them.
