This project was designed to encourage good character such as respect, responsibility, and self-control while students are actively engaged in their lessons. Students earn \"sweets and treats\" by demonstrating positive behavior, following classroom expectations, and staying focused during instructional time. This has helped create a calm, respectful learning environment where students understand that positive choices support everyone's success.\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were excited and motivated to do their best. They quickly made the connection between their behavior and the rewards, and many students began encouraging one another to stay on task, use kind words, and follow classroom routines. I noticed a decrease in disruptions and an increase in students taking ownership of their actions. One memorable moment was during independent work time, when students reminded each other to remain focused so everyone could earn a treat together.\r\nAs we move forward, Sweets and Treats will continue to support our lessons by reinforcing positive behavior during reading, writing, and technology-based activities. The project has helped students understand that learning and good character go hand in hand. Because of your support, my classroom is a more positive, focused, and encouraging place to learn. Thank you for helping us build strong learners and strong character at the same time.","fullyFundedDate":1767896341798,"projectUrl":"project/sweets-and-treats/9984534/","projectTitle":"Sweets and Treats","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Darville","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3663149_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1467679103991","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3663149"},{"teacherId":3663149,"projectId":9587488,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my students are actively using these new resources every day as part of their learning and classroom culture. One meaningful way we've used them is during focused work sessions tied to our ongoing lessons. Students earn points for positive behavior, collaboration, and staying engaged, and once they reached their goal, they were rewarded with snacks while continuing their academic work. This may seem small, but it created a powerful moment students were motivated, focused, and proud of what they had earned.\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials and realized they had worked together to earn this opportunity, their excitement was immediate. They felt seen, valued, and supported. For many of my students, having a positive incentive connected to their behavior and effort reinforced the idea that their actions matter and that learning can be both productive and joyful.\r\nAs we move forward, these resources will continue to support our classroom lessons by helping students build responsibility, self-management, and teamwork. Our next steps include setting new behavior and academic goals tied to upcoming projects, where students will again work collaboratively while applying what they are learning in class. Your contribution truly gave you a peek into our classroom not just in what students are learning, but in how they are growing as motivated, confident learners. Thank you for helping make that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1758202876905,"projectUrl":"project/rewarding-good-character/9587488/","projectTitle":"Rewarding Good Character!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Darville","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3663149_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1467679103991","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3663149"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17983","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":860,"numTeachers":68,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":72,"percentWhite":20,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":17983,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Iberville Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Iberville Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/iberville-parish-school-district/iberville-elementary-school/17983"}
