Today with the first day that we used our new slides and microscopes to observe microorganisms - it was magical. We even had a doctorally-trained microbiologist help us learn how to load the slides, focus our views, and use different magnifications.\r\n\r\nThe students LOVED studying science using hands-on technology with real world application. An overwhelming majority of my 75 students told me that it was the most fun they've ever had at school, which made all of the planning and hard work well worth it to me! Some of the slides they looked at include, but are not limited to: cat hair, horse, hair, rabbit hair, butterfly wings, butterfly antennae, mammal muscle tissue, mammal brain tissue, chick embryo, mushroom, and colored thread. These slides gave them a variety of things to look at while learning how to use microscopes independently with the guidance of a highly trained scientist!
