This has a huge impact on combatting and eliminating unwanted bacteria.\r\n\r\nThis project has helped create a cleaner, healthier, and more comfortable learning environment. With the availability of tissues and sanitizing supplies, students are better able to manage minor illnesses or allergies without disruption. They feel more cared for and respected, which contributes to a more positive classroom culture.\r\n\r\nWe're no longer scrambling for tissues when someone sneezes, or worrying about spreading germs during cold and flu season. Students take more responsibility for their hygiene, and the classroom stays cleaner throughout the day. As a result, there's been less distraction, fewer absences, and more focus on learning.\r\n\r\nMany of our families face economic challenges and aren't always able to contribute supplies. By filling this gap, you've helped ensure that all students—regardless of their circumstances—have access to the basic materials that support their health and well-being at school.\r\n\r\nYour support means more than you may realize. While many people are familiar with using technology at home for entertainment, in our classroom, your gift has transformed how we teach, learn, and experience science together.\r\n\r\nThe inflatable screen has given us the ability to turn our science lessons into immersive, cinematic learning experiences. Whether we're watching a documentary about deep-sea ecosystems, simulating a walk on Mars, or reviewing student-made science presentations, the larger-than-life visuals keep students engaged in a way that textbooks simply can't.\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most is how interactive and collaborative this technology feels. We've held outdoor \"Science Movie Nights,\" hosted virtual dissections, and even displayed real-time results from class experiments. It turns our learning into an event—and students love that they're not just watching, but participating in the experience.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who's usually quiet and reserved in class, has really shined with this new setup. After seeing an astronomy documentary on the big screen, they approached me to ask if they could create a slideshow on black holes to present to the class. The screen gave them a platform (literally and figuratively)to share their curiosity and confidence with others.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our classroom feels more dynamic, more inclusive, and more inspiring than ever. With the flower, vegetable, and plant seeds, we launched a classroom project called \"Grow & Tell: Our Living Science Journal.\" Each student selected seeds to plant, care for, and track over time—recording observations, growth rates, and environmental conditions in their science journals. We also incorporated lessons on pollination, photosynthesis, and sustainability to connect hands-on gardening with our science curriculum.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments so far was when a group of students discovered their first sprouts after the weekend. The room was full of cheers, excitement, and even a few surprised gasps!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the packets of seeds, their eyes lit up! Some couldn't believe they'd get to actually grow something in class. For many, it was their first time planting anything. There was a sense of ownership and pride from the very beginning—choosing what to plant and labeling their pots with their names and plant types made it feel personal and special.\r\n\r\nNext, we're expanding the project to include a \"Plant-to-Plate\" challenge where students will grow vegetables and herbs, learn about nutrition, and eventually use their harvest in a simple recipe or class tasting. We're also integrating data analysis by charting plant growth over time and comparing different growing conditions like sunlight, water levels, and soil types.\r\n\r\nThis project is teaching so much more than plant science—it's fostering responsibility, patience, and a deeper connection to nature. We've discussed supply and demand in current events, using practical examples like eggs and plane tickets. \r\n \r\nThe Chatter Chance cards have been a great communication tool, allowing students to take fun brain breaks while getting to know each other better. \r\n \r\nWe'll focus on car care, map reading, and home maintenance in March. For example, we recently dedicated a class period to learning proper cleaning techniques using the instrument swabs and mouthpiece cleaner. This was part of a broader lesson on instrument care and longevity. One memorable moment was when students worked in small groups to clean their instruments and shared tips with one another, creating a collaborative and engaged learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe students were thrilled when they first saw the materials! Many of them commented on how much easier it would be to take care of their instruments with the proper tools. Some even expressed excitement about finally having reeds. We've introduced a weekly \"Brain Break & Bond\" time, where students get to engage in cooperative games, puzzles, and physical activities as a reward for their hard work and as part of our social-emotional learning goals.\r\n\r\nOne standout moment was during a rainy afternoon when we turned our classroom into a game zone. Students worked in small groups to play strategy-based board games and team-building activities. Not only was it fun, but it also helped build communication skills, patience, and mutual respect. The laughter and teamwork happening in that room were unforgettable!\r\n\r\nPure joy! When the students saw the new games and equipment, their excitement was contagious. Some shouted, \"No way!\" while others immediately started reading the game instructions and planning who they'd play with. They couldn't wait to get started—and now they look forward to that time every week.\r\n\r\nWe're currently incorporating the games into a project on teamwork and critical thinking. Students will reflect on the strategies they used while playing, how they handled wins and losses, and how collaboration plays a role in both play and learning. We'll also be rotating student leaders to facilitate game sessions, giving them a chance to build leadership and responsibility.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous support, you didn't just donate games—you helped create a stronger, happier, and more connected classroom.
