The magnifying glasses and safety glasses have made science investigations more authentic by allowing students to safely observe and explore the world like real scientists. Rulers have strengthened measurement skills through hands-on activities, while pretend money has made learning about coins and solving real-world math problems engaging and meaningful. Base ten blocks, bear counters, two-color counters, and dice have become essential tools for building number sense, practicing math strategies, developing fluency, and making learning interactive through games and collaborative activities.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful donations was the clear bins, which I turned into individual math toolboxes for each student. Each toolbox holds the manipulatives students use throughout the year, giving them immediate access to the tools they need during math lessons. This simple organization system has saved valuable instructional time because I no longer have to stop and pass out manipulatives before every activity. Instead, students can quickly retrieve their toolboxes, take ownership of their learning, and spend more time actively solving problems and discussing their mathematical thinking.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboards, dry erase markers, erasers, pencils, clipboards, felt pens, markers, and tracer projector have created a classroom where every student is actively engaged and confident in sharing their ideas. Students can easily show their thinking, collaborate with classmates, and learn from their mistakes in a supportive environment. Because of your generosity, my classroom has become a place where learning is hands-on, collaborative, and exciting. Thank you for investing in my students and providing resources that have increased engagement, promoted independence, and created meaningful learning experiences that will benefit them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1781549642772,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-tools-for-future-mathematicians/10330417/","projectTitle":"Hands-on-Tools for Future Mathematicians and Scientists","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3548313_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749710389627","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3548313"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17877","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":560,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":87,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":17877,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mansfield Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mansfield Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/desoto-parish-school-district/mansfield-elementary-school/17877"}
