Byrd High School students. We have had two months of Book Jackets Club meetings- one during first lunch shift and one during second- and it has been so rewarding! The students were so excited to get to eat Johnny's Pizza and receive their new books in September. They got to pick their own, fresh copy of whichever of the ten titles they were most interested in reading. Then they read for the next month, and they returned in October. Over Dilla's Quesadillas, they shared what they liked, didn't like, and if they would suggest the book they read to others. Then they chose another title to read for this month. They were able to talk to other people that read the same book as them or get suggestions from others. It is so nice to see students so excited about reading books and being around one another! Some of them even have started writing quiz questions and synopses to prepare for the Caddo Battle of the Books that will be in April.\r\n We appreciate you donating these books so much. You not only are donating books but experiences. They are getting to meet new friends, both fellow readers and fictional characters. It is bringing people into the library that may not come otherwise. These books also have academic impacts. Studies show that a student who reads 20 minutes a day is more likely to score in the 90th percentile on standardized tests. I am so glad you have decided to partner with us to support these Byrd High School students.","fullyFundedDate":1785768625427,"projectUrl":"project/2026-27-ce-byrd-teen-readers-choice-b/10422269/","projectTitle":"2026-27 C.E.
