Because of your generosity, reading in my classroom has been transformed into a joyful, welcoming experience. Reading now looks like students eagerly choosing books, sitting together on the floor, and exploring stories at their own pace. The moment the books arrieved, the students were drawn to the smell of the new books and carefully turned pages, studying the pictures and trying to read the names of new things they discovered. They excitedly pointed out planets, plants, and rocks, and one favorite is a story about a dog named Buck that many students return to it again and again. Every book feels special to them, and the variety has opened the door to curiosity, confidence, and meaningful conversations.\r\nMy Englsih Learners are enjoying the library because it gives them a sense of comfort and belonging. It was truly special to watch their faces light up when they discovered that The Little Red Hen was also available in Spanish-seeing a book in their language made them feel seen and valued. After assignments are finished reading time feels effortless and calm; students naturally choose to sit on the floor, relax, and enjoy a book. Your support has helped create a space where readding feels good, exciting, and accessible to all learners. The large amount of pencils that was supplied to my class, have been thoroughly used throughout the year. \r\n\r\nAs we continue to grow, we hope to continue with the upward movement and learned responsibilities that have been gained by such a seemingly small thing like binders, pencils and pencil pouches.","fullyFundedDate":1746707437125,"projectUrl":"project/wheres-my-pencil/9200769/","projectTitle":"Where's My Pencil?","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hark","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8111523_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689035523901","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8111523"},{"teacherId":8111523,"projectId":9176603,"letterContent":"My girls have used these items and are so appreciative of it. We used the spiking attachments in abundance over the summer and throughout the season. We definitely showed so much growth in our abilities to attack the ball and were able to get more reps in with hitting lines. \r\nMy girls were intrigued by the spiking attachment when it first got put together but once they realized what it is was and what it was for, the excitement took over. Even some of my former girls came to open gym to get in some reps with the spiker. \r\nWe are also so appreciative for the kneepads. Some of the girls wore theirs done to the padding, getting holes and rips in them because they used them so often. \r\n\r\nAs we continue growing our program, we hope to continue with the upward movement throughout our district. This season our varsity ended the season tied for 2nd and Junior Varsity ended 3rd in the district. It was a difficult year teaching 3 different subjects, a diverse group of students in the same classroom, and moving around the school throughout the day. I am forever grateful for the help in obtaining items for each class; thank you again.\r\n\r\nFor the success strategies class, where students are learning and working on their reading and grammar skills, the posters came in great use! I used to have small posters and it was hard for the students across the class to see, so I used to walk around with them to help the students. The large posters on nouns, pronouns, adjectives, etc, were so wonderful. It made my students more comfortable and confident in completing their work (mostly because they were still scared to ask for help or to admit they did not know something). \r\n\r\nFor the physical education classes I LOVED having the posters to show case what we are consistently working on throughout all of our units! The students really enjoyed having visual reminders.\r\nThe science posters are double win! I used the majority for the class this previous school year but a lot will still come in handy this upcoming 25-26 year as I was moved to a different grade level of science. I love the accessibility of Donor Choose and that we have local supports as well as those that choose to resonate with our cause and needs.\r\n\r\nThank you all so much again!","fullyFundedDate":1738693165346,"projectUrl":"project/rms-success-strategies-ela-and-classroom/8887356/","projectTitle":"RMS Success Strategies ELA and Classroom Necessities","teacherDisplayName":"Coach R Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7751039_orig.jpg?crop=2701,2701,x0,y432&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749145985702","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7751039"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15455","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":585,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":53,"percentWhite":11,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":58.4,"schoolId":15455,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rusheon Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rusheon Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/bossier-parish-school-district/rusheon-middle-school/15455"}
