Many summer days were spent cleaning, painting, decorating, and arranging a space that would be safe and full of love for my future second graders. After many hours and a considerable amount of my own money spent, I had my room almost perfect. The one thing we were missing was the smiley face rug I so desperately wanted to add. But with such a hefty price tag, and three children of my own who would need school clothes and supplies, I couldn't make it happen. \r\n My first full week of teaching, I left my room exhausted, questioning if I had made the right career decision and if I could be what my students deserved. I checked my email once I got home and was in total shock to see that a single donor had fully funded my rug! It was the wind that my sails so desperately needed! A little divine confirmation that I could do this! And that my classroom was about to get the perfect finishing touch. \r\n When our rug arrived, my students couldn't contain their excitement! They loved the bright colors and how much room they had to sit during our group sessions and videos!
