My students use this often and tell their friends about all the things that we have if they need them. My students and I are truly so grateful.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw everything that was purchased for us, they were in shock. They had never experienced people caring so much about their well-being outside of the school day. For some, I could see their face light up, knowing that they would not go without basic necessities this year. This alone was enough for me to feel as though this project was a success.\r\n\r\nI plan to continue my take what you need closet throughout the remainder of my years of teaching. I am so glad that this is something that I chose to begin and I cannot wait to help more students as the year goes on.","fullyFundedDate":1754320462711,"projectUrl":"project/take-what-you-need/9384016/","projectTitle":"Take What You Need","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Witt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10045459"},{"teacherId":8487501,"projectId":8674779,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom project, \"Every Step Counts: Building Healthy Habits with Step Counters!\" Because of your support, my students are now equipped with step counters that have transformed the way we view movement, health, and goal setting.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the step counters, the energy and excitement in our classroom have grown tremendously. Students eagerly track their steps each day, setting personal goals and encouraging one another along the way. It has sparked friendly competition, teamwork, and a greater awareness of the importance of staying active—both in and out of school.\r\n\r\nBeyond physical activity, this project has provided meaningful opportunities for real-world math integration. Students have been collecting data, creating graphs, and analyzing trends in their step counts, connecting fitness to learning in an authentic and engaging way.\r\n\r\nPerhaps most importantly, the step counters have given students a sense of ownership over their well-being. They've become more mindful of their choices, and several have even inspired their families to start walking challenges at home!\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our project and helping us take steps—literally and figuratively—toward a healthier, more engaged learning environment.
