My students are amazing, hard-working, wonderful kids who love to learn through hands-on activities in reading and math. They are driven to learn and willing to work towards success, even at their young age. Our school is located in a high poverty, Portland neighborhood surrounded by the bustling urban city and nonstop high traffic of west Louisville, KY. Regardless of their home-lives, they are excited about learning and they come to school every day with hope, expectation and enthusiasm. As a teacher I value my students' success, but moreso because I too know their struggles and obstacles, as I too grew up in the same neighborhood as my students. Therefore, I strive daily to be a real example and connection that success is measured by how hard you work. Your donation truly makes a difference. Thank you for your support!
