The money you contributed bought our brand new Chemistry classroom beakers in multiple sizes, Bunsen burners, flint lighters (for the Bunsen burners), and graduated cylinders. \r\n\r\nSince your contribution, our class has completed multiple labs, including but not limited to: \r\n-Studying the Phase Change Diagram of Water: In this lab, students started with water in the solid form (ice) and continuously measured the temperature while heating the water until boiling to the gaseous phase (water vapor). Students then plotted their data to create their very own phase change diagram, labeling important points such as, solid, liquid, gas, melting, vaporization, condensation, and freezing. \r\n-Measuring Volumes of Liquids: In this lab, students applied their knowledge of metric conversions. Students were given multiple measurements in different units and were required to convert those measurements to milliliters to complete the lab. \r\n-Conservation of Matter Lab: This lab gave application to the law of conservation of mass and also gave a path into chemical formulas, subscripts, and coefficients which we cover in class on the notes. Very efficient in regards to tying into content, application of content, as well as bridging into new concepts. \r\n\r\nWithout your contributions, these labs and learning opportunities would not have been possible for myself or my students and we are extremely grateful!
