Students who I had the privilege of working with last year will come to my room now and be amazed at how wonderful this corner is and how quickly it became something amazing from nothing. Your donations made this possible and I am grateful! \r\n\r\nThe impact of this calming space for my students has been huge. Everyone has wanted to use it as a reward, but the greatest part is that I have been able to give students who are upset a place to regulate before their feelings become too large to contain. Even at their ages of 12-14, they see the benefit of going to take deep breaths with the koala, squeeze the pillow, close the tent, and turn on the fiber optic lights. We have avoided so much escalation in the classroom and the value of that doesn't come at a number. Thank you so much for your kindness and willingness to make a difference in my little classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1780679690328,"projectUrl":"project/project-calming-corner/10291505/","projectTitle":"Project Calming Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Edwards","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10511977"},{"teacherId":3325950,"projectId":10019872,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating paint to our art classroom! For this project, students explored plaster by creating sculptural \"cakes.\" They designed and built their cakes using plaster, focusing on form, texture, and creative details. It was such a hands-on experience, and students really took ownership of their designs—some even added imaginative themes and intricate decorations.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were beyond excited. Many of them had never worked with plaster before, so there was a mix of curiosity and enthusiasm. The moment they realized they were going to create realistic-looking cakes out of art materials, the room filled with energy and creativity.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our students are now ready to take their work even further. Next, we'll be painting and finishing the cakes, adding color, details, and personal flair to bring their designs to life. We'll also be reflecting on the process—what worked, what they would change, and how artists use sculpture to express ideas.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting impact by giving students the opportunity to explore new materials and think creatively in ways they'll remember long after this project is complete.
