Students get a better grasp of a concept when there is a story to tell about it. Our teachers are utilizing these materials to build background knowledge, vocabulary, and comprehension skills to help their students understand the topics presented. \r\nOur students are gaining a broader perspective of the world and are connecting new information to what they already know. A few girls in class were excited to read \"Mae Among the Stars\" about a woman that traveled into space. Students were ooh-ing and aahh-ing when they came into the library and saw how organized the shelves were. They took ownership of the space, and appreciate being able to easily find their books in the book bins. \r\nHaving the amazing new books and a better organization system has boosted reading morale in our school. Students are excited to come to the library, they are better at finding what they need; encouraging each other to read and keep our library organized.
