From STEM engineering tasks to art projects and music lessons, the impact of the stools is unimaginable! The stools made it easy for them to shift between brainstorming at the table, gathering materials, and testing their ideas. Instead of being confined to one spot, students were able to stay active and engaged, naturally collaborating and sharing ideas as they moved. The stools have helped create a learning environment that feels much more like a real-world makerspace, where flexibility and teamwork are key. Students have more space to move and collaborate and can easily change position from sitting to standing without the confinement of regular classroom chairs. \r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new stools, they were so excited! They were eager to try them out, and many commented on how \"cool\" they were. They enjoy being able to easily push the stools under the table to work on whatever the activity for the day is. The increased mobility has made transitions smoother and has helped students stay focused, especially during longer project-based lessons. Students appreciate the option of sitting or standing and have commented about how much more space the room has. \r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using the stools during STEAM challenges, art projects, and music. The flexibility of the seating will allow them to seamlessly move between planning, creating, and testing phases for STEM tasks. They also allow for more student flexibility to choose how they work during art and music. \r\n\r\nThanks to the donors' support, our classroom is evolving into a dynamic space where students can think creatively, work collaboratively, and fully engage in a real-world MakerSpace.","fullyFundedDate":1767710665894,"projectUrl":"project/stools-for-steam/9705902/","projectTitle":"Stools for STEAM","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10254449_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759360941715","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10254449"},{"teacherId":7345699,"projectId":9423126,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to our literacy project! Early childhood education is centered around books and the frequent reading that allows our students to learn in such a variety of ways. In my classroom, I read between 2-4 books daily. With every read aloud, we focus on different things. During whole group learning, we focus on the content of the book. This is a time that we focus on a certain curriculum based topic - animals, community helpers, focusing on our health, using our imagination, etc. \r\nOne of my favorite books, is called \"Not a Box.\" This is a book with few words that uses illustrations to show that by using our imaginations, a box can be anything we want to it be. We always use this book in our imagination unit. After reading it, we use materials in the classroom to turn cardboard boxes into whatever the students choose. We have seen race cars, castles, rocket ships, firetrucks, etc. \r\nThere are no limits to reading, and I cannot thank you enough for helping contribute to our classroom so we can expand little minds with the help of these new books!","fullyFundedDate":1757532832064,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-for-my-littles/9423126/","projectTitle":"Literacy for My Littles!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jourdan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7345699_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1658324376172","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7345699"},{"teacherId":10080224,"projectId":9464487,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of flexible seating to our special education classroom. When my students first saw the new seating options, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. They were eager to try each one and immediately began finding the spots that made them feel most comfortable and ready to learn. It was an instant moment of joy and ownership for them, and it truly set a positive tone in our classroom.\r\nThe flexible seating has made a meaningful difference for my students who learn best while moving. Having choices such as wobble stools, cushions, and other seating options allows them to release energy in a safe and productive way while staying focused on their lessons. I've already noticed improved attention, increased participation, and fewer distractions as students are able to meet their sensory and movement needs in a positive manner.\r\nAs we continue our current lessons, students will be using the new seating during reading groups, writing activities, and hands-on math practice. This support is helping them build confidence, independence, and a greater sense of comfort at school. Your kindness is making our classroom a place where every student can feel supported, valued, and ready to succeed.
