My students have completed the building of their rockets and are anxiously awaiting lift off time! We have had to postpone the launch date twice now due to weather. We are hoping next week will be successful!\r\n\r\nMy students have learned how to read instructions, follow diagrams and problem solve during the process of building the rockets. Almost all of my students had never built anything where they had to follow technical instructions, this was an eye opener for me. I had to teach them how to read not only the instructions but interpret the diagrams. \r\n\r\nWith this being their first experience building a rocket, they did have to use problem solving skills, especially when things do not go as planned. There were 4 students that did not follow the diagram when it came time to glue their launch tube into the rocket and the tube did not fit correctly. They had to find a way to fix the issue (cut the launch tube) in order to be able to launch their rocket.\r\n\r\nStudents also had to create an info graphic to explain Newton's Laws in relation to rocket launches.
