These skills go far beyond test preparation they help students become thoughtful, compassionate citizens.\r\n\r\nAre there particular students who are especially enjoying the new books, and how so?\r\n\r\nAbsolutely! We've noticed that students who didn't always see themselves reflected in books before are now more eager to read. For instance, one student who often struggled to find interest in reading picked up a novel with a character who shared her cultural background—and she finished it in a week. Another student who is passionate about social justice gravitated toward nonfiction that explores real-world issues, sparking thoughtful conversations with peers. Even our most reluctant readers have found entry points through graphic novels and contemporary stories that feel authentic to their experiences.
