The A Little SPOT book sets, plush characters, and educator's guide are being used across individual and small-group speech-language therapy sessions to help students identify emotions and express their needs. \r\n\r\nThese materials provide my students with a concrete, child-friendly way to explore complex emotions while building vocabulary, perspective-taking, and problem-solving skills. They are being utilized in my lessons as well as existing in my calming corner to provide an option for self-directed exploration and expression.\r\n\r\nI've already begun to witness progress in my students who become overwhelmed or dysregulated, helping them return to learning more quickly and independently. As students learn to recognize their emotions and choose appropriate strategies, they also strengthen their ability to advocate for themselves and communicate effectively with peers and adults.\r\n\r\nThese resources will be used across grade levels for years to come, benefiting numerous students by supporting not only their emotional growth but also their speech, language, and social-communication goals.
