The Heggerty manuals help guide our daily routines as we practice listening to sounds, identifying beginning sounds, and playing oral language games that build the foundation for reading. The letter posters are displayed at the children's eye level and are referenced constantly during lessons and throughout the day, helping students connect sounds to letters in a natural, engaging way.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate—especially the stuffed hedgehogs! They quickly became our \"learning helpers\" and are now part of our daily routine. Students love holding the hedgehogs while listening for sounds or taking turns during activities, which has increased focus and participation. Even students who are usually hesitant to speak up are more eager to join in when the hedgehogs are involved.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our next steps include continuing to build strong phonemic awareness skills as we move into blending sounds, identifying rhymes, and strengthening early reading readiness. These resources are not just tools—they are helping create joyful, confidence-building learning moments every single day.
