The students have truly enjoyed outside recess more with the items we received because of your donation. There were lots of screams of \"Ooh,\" and \"Oh wow!\" as we opened the boxes. They were super excited to take the items out to recess to show and share with the other 1st grade classes. \r\n\r\nSince the students have had more recess equipment, we have had fewer students having disagreements and fewer student injuries from just running around. We have noticed that students' social skills have improved as they have been able to learn how to play games well together. Classroom distractions during our learning time has decreased because more students are able to have a real mental break and physical break at recess time. The desire to keep trying and to persevere when playing, has transitioned into the classroom and students are willing to productively struggle, instead of immediately give up when work becomes challenging for them. Many students, no longer see mistakes as failure, but a reason to try again or do something differently. Their performance in class and on diagnostic assessments has shown significant growth.
