As you can see in the photos, I work hard to create a classroom environment that feels calm and welcoming. This includes soft lighting from lamps, calming music, and relaxing scents, all aimed at helping students feel at ease when they enter the space.\r\n\r\nThis year, thanks to the additional support, I've been able to set up a \"calm-down\" bookshelf, also shown in the pictures. I use this intentionally with students who may be having a tough day and aren't yet ready to engage in a full lesson. This space allows them to regulate their emotions so we can then move into deeper, more meaningful conversations.\r\n\r\nWhen my students saw all the new items available this year, they were genuinely excited. They've shared that having more individualized materials and a wider range of topics makes them feel more included and supported. These resources help me meet their unique needs in a way that feels personal and intentional.\r\n\r\nIn the other photos, you'll see me working with small groups using some of the donated resources. We were engaged in kindness activities, incorporating pieces of our new curriculum and one of the donated games, which we used during our circle time. These tools have made a noticeable difference in how I can support my students both emotionally and academically.","fullyFundedDate":1756221554014,"projectUrl":"project/social-worker/9559762/","projectTitle":"Social Worker","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fairbanks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10162987"},{"teacherId":9650473,"projectId":8632268,"letterContent":"On behalf of the teachers and students at Banneker Elementary, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous contributions to our Panther Store project. We are committed to finding ways to continue stocking the Panther Store throughout the year, as it has had such a positive impact on student behavior and academics.
