This printer has made an immediate impact on my 3D design class. Students are able to see their hard work come to life much sooner than expected. I have students who are willing to try to build something from scratch in TinkerCAD and see if it prints. Failure of a print opens conversations of precision and what could be done to fix it. \r\n\r\nI always forget how excited my other students, not in my 3D design class, get when they see the printers working. I've had students get their own printers and continuee building their skills and creativity at home. With your simple donation you've helped students see what they can create.\r\n\r\nHaving this printer has also helped me push my abilities to build and create in TinkerCAD to print. We have done a lot more fidget toy builds, as seen in the pictures. I've learned more about not just the printers and their capabilities, but what is possible with a little determination from my students.","fullyFundedDate":1764703502047,"projectUrl":"project/keep-the-printing-going/9605405/","projectTitle":"Keep the Printing Going!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Novack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9934357_orig.png?crop=248,248,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742916794844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9934357"},{"teacherId":9934357,"projectId":9138420,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for taking interest in my project. The curiosity from receiving the printer and starting to test print and print projects for students has spiked again. Students, even ones outside my normal class, have asked more questions about 3D printers in general and asking about building projects in TinkerCAD. This is the spark the school I work in needs. \r\n\r\nSince we have a reliable printer I already have been able to print the projects my students created again. Getting up to date technology in a rural school is rare, now my students get to experience what it is like to have a quality product to design and create with. We have already had some misprints, but we are learning how our builds in TinkerCAD need to be precise if we want a quality print. \r\n\r\nIt is also a learning experience for me to build in my understanding of how 3D printing can be used on a small scale, but also on the larger scales of building homes. It has sparked a curiosity of how I can expose how printers are used on a large scale to create things like homes, schools, and even train stations.","fullyFundedDate":1743516507781,"projectUrl":"project/design-create-build-and-print/9138420/","projectTitle":"Design, Create, Build, and PRINT!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Novack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9934357_orig.png?crop=248,248,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742916794844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9934357"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60789","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":227,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":56,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":17.6,"schoolId":60789,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Holcomb Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Holcomb Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/holcomb-unified-school-district-363/holcomb-middle-school/60789"}
