I got pillows, books, and craft paper that my students have really enjoyed being able to utilize. The variety of books keeps many students interested and the pillows allow them some flexible seating. It is currently the only flexible seating in my room, so they are very popular. \r\n\r\nThe trays and dry erase markers have added a pop of color to my room and really bring it to life and make it feel more inviting. I appreciate the markers because it allows myself and my students to be creative. Having multiple colors also allows us to do team activities at the white board as well. \r\n\r\nThe TPT gift card allowed me to get papers that needed to be differentiated for my students that needed another way to show their learning. With your donations, we were able to buy a variety of book sets for my fifth grade classroom. By doing that we were able to meet the interests of a variety of readers. I have students reading who previously hadn't shown any interest in reading before. \r\n\r\nI am able to watch their faces as they enjoy exploring the world of books. I even have kids turning in reading minutes that previously hadn't done so. \r\n\r\nDuring class, I like to give students the option to silent read after they finish their work. We call this D.E.A.R. time in my room. It means Drop Everything And Read. These donations have allowed them to finish their work and be able to grab a book that really interests them and read. This is beneficial for them, but also for their peers who may still be working.
