It seemed like every day at the end of the day we had many broken crayons and pencils laying on the floor. The students were not taking care of their supplies so when it came time to needing them, they didn't have what they needed. Well, when we got the \"On Strike\" box set I read \"Crayons on Strike\" right away. We talked about how crayons should be treated and how we weren't really doing a very good job of taking care of our crayons. After reading this book, I noticed the difference right away. There were less crayons on the floor at the end of the day. Also, I noticed students helping other students keep track of their supplies. This box set has made such a difference in how my students take care of their supplies!\r\n\r\nI also ordered some mini emotion plush toys along with the book \"A Little Spot of Feelings\". I have one student with some big emotions. This student would get very angry and argumentative throughout the day. One day I read the book with this student and we talked about the different feelings each plush toy represented. Now this student will use the plush toy they need to help them calm down. This set has been a big help this year and I know I will use it for many years to come.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is more appreciated than you will ever know.","fullyFundedDate":1764726486147,"projectUrl":"project/project-read-a-lot/9549446/","projectTitle":"Project Read a Lot","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wiggins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1171628"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_45158","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":364,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":96,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":42.1,"schoolId":45158,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tri - Center Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tri - Center Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/iowa/tri-center-cmty-sch-district/tri-center-elementary-school/45158"}
