It is such a blessing to have the support of local donors to our classroom. \r\n\r\nWe have been using all the the STEM activities everyday. Our kids get to start the day with play club, where they get pick an area of the school, and interact with kids of all ages doing various activities. The straws, garden, and connecting blocks have been a hit. These activities allow our kids to be creative, work with others, and use their imaginations to create projects. It is great to have things that require kids to think outside the box and use their imaginations.\r\n\r\nWhen we opened the boxes with the new materials, the kids were over the moon! There was screaming and cheering and lots of jumping up and down. They were filled with excitement to explore the new materials. Some students immediately grabbed a cushion or stool and said, \"This is so cool!\" It was clear right away that they felt empowered by having a choice in how they learn.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the stools and cushions daily during our Reading Plus sessions. These targeted learning times require a lot of focus, and the ability to move while working has helped many of my students stay more engaged. One moment that stood out was during a particularly challenging reading activity—one of my more restless students stayed focused the entire time while using a wobble stool.
