Because of you, my classroom has a comfortable space for students to enjoy flexible seating options. Many of my middle school students prefer to learn sitting where they feel most comfortable, especially when working in pairs or individually. I know traditional seating can sometimes be a hindrance to student learning and engagement, which is why I deeply appreciate your donation of these wobble stools and this rug.\r\n\r\nIn addition, my students have especially appreciated the calming Koala which changes lights to guide them through breathing techniques as coping strategies. This Koala is kept in our break space corner for whenever a student comes in the room to take a break. They can turn it on, and it changes colors to guide them. My middle schoolers have found this Koala to be quite soothing and calming. They have nicknamed him \"Little Lebron\" after the basketball player.\r\n\r\nOverall, this has been an incredibly successful and extremely appreciated project. My students look forward to more opportunities due to wonderful donors like you.","fullyFundedDate":1781627100274,"projectUrl":"project/curated-sel-classroom/10139805/","projectTitle":"Curated SEL Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Headley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10461008_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1781656469682","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/headley"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_51928","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":635,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":69.4,"schoolId":51928,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Weeks Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Weeks Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/iowa/des-moines-public-schools/weeks-middle-school/51928"}
