Students are wrapping up their online modules to learn all about the skills and requirements of being a professional lifeguard. We are learning about the importance of professionalism, punctuality, and the seriousness of the demands of the job. One of the most important skills my students can use for a lifetime is learning how to perform CPR on an adult and a child. They are using what they are learning to apply it to real life situations to save lives, both as a professional lifeguard and a citizen. \r\n\r\nWhen I brought the trainers to the pool deck, they were excited to see how they will apply the skills to practice for their final timed responses to drowning scenarios. Students are practicing compressions to breath ratios, using the bag valves, and the aid of an AED to save lives. They are looking forward to earning their certification and working as a lifeguard for our school and in pools throughout our community. \r\n\r\nThese supplies that your donation brought to our classroom will be used for years to come to train future lifeguards.
