The laser engraver allows students to see their ideas come to life in a tangible and lasting way. Whether designing personalized bookmarks, creating classroom awards, or engraving meaningful quotes connected to literature we are reading, students experience the full creative process—from brainstorming to final product. This not only strengthens problem-solving and design thinking skills, but also builds confidence as students see their work transformed into something professional and permanent.\r\n\r\nThe addition of high-quality pens, markers, and paint ensures that every child has access to the tools they need to express themselves. In 5th grade, creativity plays a vital role in deepening comprehension and engagement. Students use these materials to annotate texts, illustrate themes from novels, create visual projects in science and social studies, and design meaningful artwork that reflects their learning. Having reliable supplies eliminates barriers and allows students to focus fully on their thinking, collaboration, and imagination.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom is a space where creativity and academic growth go hand in hand. These tools empower students to take pride in their work, explore new talents, and engage more deeply in their learning. Your support has provided more than materials—it has provided opportunity, inspiration, and lasting impact.","fullyFundedDate":1764695104886,"projectUrl":"project/from-sketch-to-spark-bringing-student-i/9907637/","projectTitle":"From Sketch to Spark: Bringing Student Ideas to Life","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Colbert","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1455662_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1485114873019","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1455662"},{"teacherId":8857144,"projectId":9195082,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our school garden club! It has been incredibly exciting to put all the new tools and supplies to use. Seeing the students' faces light up when they realized they each had their own set of gloves and a sturdy hand trowel was priceless. They particularly loved the new hats – it was quite a sight to see a whole crew of mini-gardeners, all sporting their stylish new headwear, ready to dig in. \r\n\r\nWith our new tools and supplies, our garden will undoubtedly be flourishing by the time school starts in August! All current members are invited to return at that time when we can see the \"fruits\" of our efforts as we harvest our goodies. When we do that we will also be learning about different ways to prepare the produce. \r\n\r\nThis ongoing project has not only taught them valuable lessons about sustainable living and healthy eating but also given them a real sense of accomplishment and connection to nature. Up till now we have only a few after school clubs for our children to attend. We have a very popular Lego Club, a Chess Club, Ukulele Club, and now the Garden Club. \r\nWith us beginning the club so late in the year we have not been able to do a lot, but we have been able to have a handful of meetings. I wanted to make sure that within' this short time frame, I was able to utilize the equipment that I asked for (the iPad). I took photos of different locations around our school that needed beautification and presented it to the children so they knew where we would be working for this project. We then grabbed all of our gardening tools & some plants, that were also donated & went to work planting, as seen in the attached photos.\r\nThis fall we will be using our new piece of tech to design gardens in a brand new outdoor education area that is being added to our school grounds. We will also be using it to track our plant growth, design a watering schedule, and research any issues that arise with our crops. Thank you again for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1739587106447,"projectUrl":"project/immersive-technology-for-a-garden-club/9111076/","projectTitle":"Immersive Technology for a Garden Club","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Treeter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9922547"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_19107","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":644,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":46,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.9,"schoolId":19107,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mary Bryan Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mary Bryan Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/perry-twshp-schools/mary-bryan-elementary-school/19107"}
