Your kindness isn't just appreciated — it's creating a real, measurable difference for students who need it most. This grant has allowed me to place high-impact reading materials, structured interventions, and engaging learning tools directly into the hands of learners who are striving every single day to grow, improve, and feel confident in their abilities.\r\n\r\nIn upper elementary grades, students often reach a critical turning point in their academic journeys. Those who are behind can begin to feel discouraged, and those who are on the cusp of success sometimes need just one more boost to make a breakthrough. Your donation provided that boost. You helped open doors that too often stay closed for students who are working hard but face skills gaps that can feel overwhelming without the right support.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my classroom now has the resources to deliver targeted literacy instruction that is both structured and joyful. The materials funded through this project give my students what they deserve: clear tools for decoding and fluency, opportunities for meaningful comprehension practice, and texts that help them see themselves as capable readers. You didn't just fund supplies — you funded hope, confidence, and momentum.\r\n\r\nAlready, I've watched students engage with these resources in ways that make my teacher heart melt. Kids who once hesitated to pick up a book are volunteering to read aloud. Others are proudly showing me the strategies they've learned, pointing to words and saying things like, \"I know how to break this apart now!\" Some are finally reading on grade level for the first time — a milestone that feels nothing short of life-changing. These moments are the direct result of your generosity.\r\n\r\nYour support also sends a powerful message to my students: that there are people beyond the walls of our school who believe in them. This matters. When students see that strangers chose to invest in their learning, their faces light up with a mix of surprise and pride. It shows them that they are worthy of that investment — that their growth matters to their community. That's the kind of encouragement that sticks with a child for years.\r\n\r\nAs a reading specialist, I know that literacy is not just a skill. It's a gateway to future opportunities, academic success, and lifelong confidence. You have helped open that gateway for dozens of students who were standing at the threshold, trying their best to push forward. Thank you for being the people who held the door open for them.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your contribution is making an ongoing impact every single day. The resources you helped fund will continue to be used across grade levels, benefiting new groups of students year after year. Your kindness has a ripple effect that extends far beyond this moment, and we are deeply grateful for your belief in our school, our work, and our kids.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the chance to grow, shine, and succeed. You've made a difference that truly matters.","fullyFundedDate":1758845858268,"projectUrl":"project/lets-close-the-reading-gap-for-upper-el/9732452/","projectTitle":"Let's Close the Reading Gap for Upper Elementary Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Niles","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9316636_orig.jpg?crop=702,702,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696431403759","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9316636"},{"teacherId":8261464,"projectId":9321136,"letterContent":"I want to express my sincere gratitude for your generous donation of basic needs items and classroom supplies to our classroom. It is inspiring to see members of our community invest in the success and well-being of our young learners, and I am truly grateful for your partnership.\r\n\r\nMy students are learning and growthing quickly to acheive the goal of passing a state test at the end of the year. Your donated items are a huge part of that growth. We are making anchor charts, using new whiteboard clipboards and new markers!
