This project purchased a portable heater/fan to improve the climate of my physical classroom space. Even though I work for an online school we have a physical building where students can come to get small group support for several hours a day. Our building is old and the temperature fluctuates on a daily basis to the point where the temperature makes learning difficult. The heater/fan and blankets were welcomed by all students! When students have a comfortable workspace it removes a barrier to learning. I also cannot express how thrilled our students were to have the opportunity to win a wireless mouse or laptop pillow! To inspire students to stay motivated, make progress in their coursework and attend zoom or live instruction they had opportunities each day to be entered in a drawing to win. They were so excited to have multiple opportunities to enter with a higher chance to win. The joy students have on their faces when I shared they won was the best gift I could have received. It warms my heart knowing that donors like you make this possible! \r\n \r\nCreating incentives like this really boosted engagement in my courses! I cannot wait to create another project in the future where students have the opportunity to win some amazing things that will foster their love of learning. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for supporting me and my students. I am looking forward to see all that I can do with them in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1771197352820,"projectUrl":"project/click-into-comfort-enhancing-online-lea/10036711/","projectTitle":"Click Into Comfort: Enhancing Online Learning Through Essential Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Uebbing","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp541414_orig.jpg?crop=2133,2133,x0,y170&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722378407275","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/suebbing"},{"teacherId":541414,"projectId":9490919,"letterContent":"It truly is a blessing for each of our freshman students to receive their weekly planners. We work with fully virtual students or hybrid students who come into the building for small group support a couple times of week. When students are not working with teachers on zoom or in person they are working on at home at their own pace. This unique way of learning provides students with much flexibility and autonomy for how they spend their time each day. The weekly planners have been an amazing tool to help our freshman students build their organizational skills. \r\n\r\nI communicated with all families at our Parent/Teacher Conferences this fall and provided each student with their planner. Every Monday morning I meet with our fully virtual freshman student on zoom to help guide them in the process of identifying what assignments need to be completed that week, what tasks are upcoming and what items are a priority right now. We work as a high school team to meet with our hybrid students and work with them in person on \"owning their week\". Building this intentional time into our schedule to help students see the benefits of writing down their assignments and staying organized has been powerful. It has also helped students see that it takes time to build a habit. Students were shocked that they didn't have to pay for the planners and that there were donors willing to make this project happen. They have really taken ownership of their learning and this process. \r\n\r\nMany students have been internally motivated to do this each day because they are seeing the benefits and rewards of completing assignments and making progress. Other students need a bit more external motivation. I have created an \"Own the Week\" level up system where students have the opportunity to level up each week resulting in entries into a raffle at the end of the semester. Students also enjoy immediate tangible rewards for tracking their assignments regularly and reflecting on their progress each week. I am looking forward to writing some grants in the future that will fund these tangible rewards that I will provide to my students.","fullyFundedDate":1756147285996,"projectUrl":"project/own-the-week/9490919/","projectTitle":"Own the Week","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Uebbing","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp541414_orig.jpg?crop=2133,2133,x0,y170&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722378407275","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/suebbing"},{"teacherId":541414,"projectId":9184463,"letterContent":"Words cannot express the gratitude and joy I have in my heart for the opportunity you have given the WOA Wellness Warriors. This project provided my club members with gardening supplies, soil, and planters. Planting flowers around our school was the kick off activity for our 2025-2026 school year. This hands-on opportunity gave students the opportunity to get outside and connect with nature which ultimately has positive effects on mental and physical wellness. They worked together to plant flowers into the box planters and place them on the exterior of the school building. The students took such pride in carefully planning and deciding exactly where they should be placed. In addition, this activity allowed us to make connections and comparisons on cultivating a garden and cultivating a positive mindset, opening the door to rich conversations. This activity also helped my club members invest in the school community and to take pride in our physical building space. While my students are virtual students they have opportunities like this to meet in person and connect with their peers and teachers. They are already talking about other ways they can make our school an inviting space! \r\nWhen I shared with my club members what we would be doing they were beyond thrilled. Most of the students have never had the opportunity to plant flowers before. They could not believe that you generously gave so the supplies could be purchased. They were taking pictures of the work they had done and were already discussing who would take what day watering and caring for them. It just warmed my heart knowing they took such ownership and responsibility. I would not have been able to create this experience for my club members if not for you and your generosity. \r\nGenerous donors like you have made several classroom projects possible over the past year. My Wellness Warriors are brainstorming ideas for our club's next project! I cannot wait to put those ideas together and see what amazing donors like you will do to make it a reality.
