The impacts of having live plants throughout the building has impacted teachers and students in a number of positive ways. Teachers have banded together to care for their plants and learn about the ways to sustain live plants in varied classroom environments. Students have taken on responsibilities in providing the plants with what they need to thrive. The distribution of plants created a shared experience for teachers and students, allowing for interaction across curricula and conversations throughout the school building. Now that our plants are thriving, teachers are learning the benefits of having living organisms sharing their classroom spaces. These benefits include better mental health, more inviting classroom environments, and the shared responsibility of care for their plants. You helped to provide valuable experiences in the kitchen to help students prepare for a more independent future. Students enjoyed having the appropriate materials needed to cook in our school kitchen. \r\n\r\nStudents used the various measuring cups to practice measuring in the classroom, preparing them for cooking in the kitchen. These materials helped them practice skills and then apply them in the kitchen. Students enjoyed the increased independence and confidence they were able to have with the safe knives for cutting food.\r\n\r\nWe are all so grateful for your generosity!
