With our new desks we were able to dispose of most of the rusty and broken desks and seat our students comfortably with clean surfaces. We decided to split the desks between our two 5th grade rooms and as they replaced desks that were older than our teachers, we expect a full life for these new desks as well. Our students wanted me to add that they really appreciate the love and support from the donors choose community. Our 3rd graders were the first to try them out and 2nd grade will have a turn before spring break. We are currently working on a staged curriculum to bring the tinker-tars into our 1st graders hands and also work up to 4th grade level as well. The students are extremely excited about this instrument unit and are pretty sure they are all rock stars already. \r\n\r\nLearning instruments and how to read music at an early age is a big advantage for our students and we truly appreciate your support and encouragement in getting these opportunities into our student's hands. The earlier we can start playing, the easier music learning becomes for our students. With this equipment, I will be able to get string instruments into student hands 3 years earlier than before.
