When I originally created this project, I was preparing to teach kindergarten. Shortly before the school year began, I unexpectedly moved to fourth grade. While that changed some of my original plans for these materials, I have been very grateful to have so many extra supplies available in my classroom.\r\n\r\nThe project provided us with crayons, glue, writing notebooks, supply bags, art boxes, and other everyday classroom materials. My students were glad to see all of the supplies we had available to use throughout the year. Having these materials already in the classroom also means that when we need something for a writing activity, project, or creative assignment, I can easily pull it out without having to worry about whether we have enough for everyone.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, my fourth graders will be doing more writing as well as projects that give them opportunities to show what they have learned in different ways. The notebooks, crayons, glue, and other supplies will be available for us to use during these activities. Some of the materials that were originally chosen with kindergarten students in mind can still be used and adapted for my fourth graders as different needs come up throughout the year.\r\n\r\nAlthough this school year ended up looking very different from what I expected when I first created this project, I am very thankful to have these resources available to my students.
