Because of your generous support, the grounds of FCMS are buzzing with new life!\r\n\r\nEarlier this year, our goal was to rebuild and revitalize an old pollinator garden near our school that had fallen into disrepair. While our original plan was to collaborate with the high school construction class to build raised beds, a pergola, and a picnic area, winter weather and snow days delayed their schedule. Rather than putting our mission on hold, we adapted!\r\n\r\nWe shifted our immediate focus to 15 large concrete flower planters along the front of our building, which had previously been overgrown with weeds. Thanks to your support:\r\n\r\nHands-On Student Leadership, Teamwork and Collaboration: Each student in our 8th-grade Agriculture class teamed up with a partner and was assigned their own planter to budget, plan, and cultivate.\r\n\r\nHabitat Restored: Students researched, selected, and planted a diverse variety of native perennials, flowering plants, and shrubs specifically chosen to nourish local bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other vital pollinators.\r\n\r\nInteractive Learning Lab: The front entrance was transformed into a vibrant, living classroom where students gained real-world experience in horticulture, plant care, and environmental stewardship.\r\n\r\nđ What's Next?\r\nOur vision doesn't stop here! Thanks to the support you provided, the original garden footprint will be transformed into the full outdoor learning labâcomplete with raised beds, a pergola, and seatingâwith completion set for Spring 2027.\r\n\r\nYou haven't just funded plants and soilâyou've cultivated hands-on responsibility, problem-solving, and a lasting appreciation for nature in our students.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of our students, staff, and local wildlife: thank you for believing in our project and investing in our school!","fullyFundedDate":1773983662743,"projectUrl":"project/pollinator-garden/10097100/","projectTitle":"Pollinator Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Riffle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10434511_orig.jpg?crop=607,607,x440,y488&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1770994232082","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10434511"},{"teacherId":146647,"projectId":10350414,"letterContent":"Words cannot express my deepest gratitude for your donation making it possible for my 6th grade Science students to have updated and working microscopes for Science labs.
