These lessons help students of all learning styles build comprehension and confidence. They will practice new words through digital vocabulary cards, create their own rhymes in the Lyric Lab, and demonstrate their understanding through quizzes and collaborative activities. This combination of creativity and academic rigor is especially powerful for K–5 students, who benefit greatly from learning that feels joyful and accessible.\r\nFlocabulary will be used throughout the year across subjects—ELA, math, science, and social studies—allowing students to approach challenging topics with curiosity rather than hesitation. The students were truly amazed by the results of our planting. We enjoyed many afternoon snacks made with our heirloom lettuces, which quickly became a class favorite. The kids loved them, and we used the experience to spark conversations about making healthy nutritional choices and the importance of including leafy greens in our diets.\r\n\r\nIt was such a joy to let the students observe root systems in our hydroponic setups. They were fascinated by watching the plants grow and took great pride in caring for our hydroponic garden. Taking turns watering and adding plant food encouraged teamwork and cooperation, turning the garden into a shared project for the entire class.\r\n\r\nWe also explored how hydroponics can be an effective solution for growing food in urban areas where land is limited. Students brainstormed ways they could use hydroponics at home to improve their diets, even without access to traditional garden space. The students had a lab day filled with excitement and amazement. They were fascinated by their finds from within the owl pellets. They were so excited for our lab day!\r\nDuring our lab, students discussed the food chain and saw the evidence of the animals eaten by the owls. They were able to put a few of the pieces together to assemble partial skeletons from the findings. They critically compared the bones to pictures from our lab guide to classify what types of animals they had found in the owl pellet. This is the type of learning experience that lasts a lifetime, and you provided that experience to them through your generous donations.\r\nWhen we had finished the lab, the students' lab experience gave them relevant background knowledge to use in future assignments and projects.
