They were so excited to see all the different pieces that came with the kit and how they can use them. They are able to express things without words that are difficult for them to talk about. It was particularly helpful for one student to show what is going on in his mind when he exhibits certain behaviors. This allowed us to work together to find coping skills he can use. \r\nWe will continue to use the sand tray and miniatures to help our students learn to express emotions in healthy ways. My students all received organization binders at the beginning of the year to help them stay organized and ready for the challenges of sixth grade. The smiles on their faces when they received these were so great to see. I am seeing the students carry the binders with them to their classes and using them to keep their work organized, so I know that this tool is going to be wonderful in helping my students have a successful year.\r\n\r\nThe snacks and water bottles have all come in handy to help them stay hydrated and comfortable throughout the day. The students were all very excited to have their own water bottle to use for the year and they are always thankful for a snack when they are hungry and didn't eat breakfast. So these items are a big hit with my students this year.\r\n\r\nI love the white board and how it helps to welcome my students into the classroom and reminds them to stop and sign in. And the headphones are also a big hit with the students and they are so glad to have them to use when they are working on assignments on their Chromebooks in my room.
