I am especially grateful to everyone who donated and to those who helped match the offer. Your generosity made it possible for me to bring mindfulness scripts into my middle school Health classroom, and the impact has been more meaningful than simply having a new resource on my shelf.\r\n\r\nMiddle school can be a lot. Students walk into the classroom carrying friendships, family situations, academic pressure, emotions, and experiences that we may know nothing about. Sometimes they need to learn, but first they need a moment to settle, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.\r\n\r\nThe mindfulness scripts have given me a simple and meaningful way to create those moments.\r\n\r\nI use them to help students slow down, notice how they are feeling, and practice responding instead of immediately reacting. Sometimes it is just a few quiet minutes of breathing and noticing. Other times, it becomes a reset that changes the entire energy of the room.\r\n\r\nWhat I love most is that students are learning that mindfulness is not something they have to be \"good\" at. It is a tool they can use whenever they need it. They can take a breath before responding to someone who frustrates them. They can pause when they feel overwhelmed. They can notice what their body is telling them and make a different choice.\r\n\r\nThose are skills that matter far beyond middle school.\r\n\r\nAs a Health teacher, one of the greatest gifts I can give my students is not simply information, but tools they can actually use in their everyday lives. These mindfulness resources help me do that in a way that feels practical, accessible, and meaningful for my students.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a classroom where students have permission to pause, breathe, and begin again.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for supporting the work we are doing together. I am truly grateful that your generosity is helping my students build skills they can carry with them long after they leave my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1778247277459,"projectUrl":"project/in-just-3-minutes-mindfulness-practice/10258371/","projectTitle":"In Just 3 Minutes: Mindfulness Practice","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Asbrock","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9920995_orig.jpg?crop=381,381,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739469349374","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/asbrock-healthandwellness"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30689","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1525,"numTeachers":140,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":36,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.4,"schoolId":30689,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Woodland Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Woodland Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/woodland-school-district-50/woodland-middle-school/30689"}
