Instead of only reading about life cycles in books, students were able to observe each stage firsthand- from incubating the eggs to watching the ducklings hatch and grow. This real-world experience sparked curiosity, encouraged questions, and helped students better understand science concepts such as growth, change, and caring for living things. It also created excitement each day as students eagerly checked on the eggs and recorded observations.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the project supported important social and emotional growth. Students learned patience while waiting for the eggs to hatch, responsibility through helping care for the ducklings, and empathy by understanding the needs of animals. The ducklings also brought joy and wonder into our classroom, creating lasting memories and strengthening our classroom community. Experiences like this inspire a love of learning and show students that education can be interactive, meaningful, and fun.","fullyFundedDate":1771453737661,"projectUrl":"project/kindergarten-ducklings/10101239/","projectTitle":"Kindergarten Ducklings!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Schmidt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10437261"},{"teacherId":10437335,"projectId":10101484,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing the materials for our chick hatching project! Providing them with new, fun, and engaging books has really boosted their interest in reading. This project provided us with several books series for the children to get hooked on and engage in. The students were so excited to dive into them and they became well loved books very quickly. \r\nI have seen a growth in independent reading engagement since receiving these books. The students keep asking for more! I will be looping up with these students until they are in 4th grade so it was so helpful to have some higher level books as the students grow in their reading. \r\nThank you so much for your kind donations!
