I was able to start the year with our new rug, and students LOVE it! We are all able to fit together when we have our morning meeting time every day, and we also hold whole-group math lessons, writing mini-lessons, and social studies discussions on our beautiful gathering spot! Unlike previous years, when my rug was too small, everyone has a space now!\r\n I know I've mentioned this before, but kindergarten is a different beast compared to other grade levels. Most of our time is spent AWAY from tables and desks because we are still focusing on movement while learning. We sing, we dance, and we play, but I'm also sneaking in learning every chance I get. I've always felt it is so important to have a special spot where students can gather and learn about classroom community. To have a spot that is bright and beautiful adds to our classroom in a subtle but important way. Thanks to you, we have a beautiful and comfortable spot!
