The hanging supplies purchased to assist in displaying projects has all ready been put to good use and allowed us to display all of our family projects for the month.\r\n\r\nThe die cut shapes and holder have been used to create materials for collages, nametags and other art projects throughout the school. We are thankful for the increased variety of materials and shapes we are able to offer to our favorite little people.\r\n\r\nThe laminating and binding spines are starting to be used to create reusable materials for each of the classrooms to enhance language and vocabulary. With it, we were able to buy an incubator, a brooder box, plenty of food, feeding dishes, water bowl, and a book about hatching chicks. Basically, everything we needed to hatch chickens at our preschool this year (minus the eggs). \r\n\r\nThe preschool program I work for has spent the last three weeks learning about chicks, practicing empathy and kindness, discussing the importance of maintaining physical health, and how to care for something other than ourselves. This was such a great hands-on lesson to teach these important social and emotional life skills.\r\n\r\n\r\nWe have been counting down for 21 days for the chicks to hatch. Today was the big day! The kids got to see all of their hard work and kindness and care pay off. We had 5 babies waiting for us in the morning when we got to school! Even more fun, we are doing the A-to-Z countdown for the end of the year and today's letter was E. It was technically labeled as \"extra recess day\", but we unofficially changed it to our \"eggs hatching\". \r\n\r\nSo many smiles and laughter, and just pure joy on the faces of the kids and the adults today. None of this would've been possible without your generous donation.
